Award-winning projects

NZPI Rodney Davies: Coastal Pathway (Moncks Bay Segment) in 2024

This 6.5km long world-class shared walkway and cycle pathway reshapes our scenic coastline but also enhances the area for visitors and residents.

NZPI Commendations: He Puna Taimoana in 2021

In 2021 NZPI awarded a project a Commendation for  the development of Hot Salt Water pool facility and associated childrens’ playground. 

 

NZPI Project award: Christchurch Botanic Gardens Visitor Information Centre in 2015

This project involved consultation with Ngāi Tahu regarding cultural values, and consideration of built heritage, landscape, and waterway values.

NZPI Commendations for: Hagley Oval in 2016

The Hagley Oval project involved working closely with the Council’s Greenspace asset team to develop the application and associated set of conditions. The project won the NZPI Commendation in 2016 for the project

The Tannery from across the river

NZPI Commendations for: The Tannery in 2014

The Tannery’s evolution was driven by growing demand for boutique retail and hospitality options, as well as the need to address the significant earthquake damage in the area.

 

Nancy Northcroft Planning Practice Award

NZPI’s supreme award for excellence in planning practice, for the plan change that unlocked the growth of Rolleston and Lincoln (2012) to a new mixed density zone to accommodate 8,800 residential households over a 10 to 25 year period. 

Award NZPI Best Practice Award: District and Regional Planning

This award was presented in recognition of excellence in developing a policy and rule framework that rezoned 810ha of land, enabling the accommodation of 8,800 new residential households in the rapidly growing Selwyn District.


NZPI Project Award: AMI Stadium in 2010

This project won the 2010 NZPI Project Award, recognized for excellence in planning practice, functional design, neighbourhood enhancement, community consultation, and preserving cultural heritage.
