The Planz team have extensive experience in working successfully with clients to gain resource consents for a wide range of suburban shopping blocks adjacent to residential areas. These projects have ranged from small single tenant retailers through to large purpose-designed retail strips that typically include a range of retail, café, and community services. Recent projects include the following developments:

  • Fendalton Rd – Café, day spa, and specialist clothing retail;
  • Selwyn St – complex of ten retail tenancies set around a new public square and carpark;
  • Waimairi Rd – Block of five tenancies and associated carparking;
  • Rolleston – Two separate retail and hospitality blocks, with each block containing 5 tenancies and associated carparking;
  • Edgeware – renovation and expansion of a Supervalue supermarket;
  • Worcester St – Café redevelopment;
  • Colombo St – Shipping container based pop-up retail complex with 6 hospitality and retail tenants.

Planz are able to coordinate the necessary acoustic, transport, and urban design experts to ensure that proposed retail developments are appropriately designed to both function successfully for the client and to integrate well within existing neighbourhoods.
