Our work

Waterloo Business Park Development

Planz played a key role in the transformation of the old Islington Freezing Works site into the modern Waterloo Business Park and distribution center.

Leading the plan change to rezone 114 hectares of rural and business land, Planz facilitated the comprehensive redevelopment of this large brownfield industrial site.

Following the successful plan change, Planz presented evidence during the Christchurch District Plan Review to ensure the new District Plan supported the ongoing redevelopment of the area. Since the rezoning, Planz has provided ongoing planning advice to both the client and prospective industrial purchasers. This work includes securing resource consents for the establishment of major facilities such as a large warehouse and distribution centre for Fliways, a rural farm supply retailer and head office for Farmlands, a new depot and head office for RDP, and consenting advice for Hamilton Jet.
