The Strategy focuses on ensuring the Council meets its obligations under the National Policy Statement on Urban Development Capacity.
The project involved close liaison with expert economists and the Council’s planning and asset teams to ensure future growth is sustainable and efficiently serviced. Planz was involved in drafting the Strategy, presenting proposals to elected members, and preparing reports for hearings based on stakeholder feedback.
Planz is assisting Selwyn District Council in the ongoing review of their District Plan. The early stages of this review involved assessing the effectiveness and outcomes of the operative District Plan, focusing on areas such as commercial urban design, the interface between commercial and industrial zones and residential and rural areas, isolated/out-of-zone business activities, signage, and earthworks.
Planz Consultants Limited has provided ongoing support to the Christchurch City Council’s asset team, focusing on the repair and strengthening of Council-controlled listed heritage buildings. The work has involved navigating the delicate balance between preserving heritage values and implementing economically sustainable repair strategies.
