Waikato District Plan Review

Planz assisted Waikato District Council in assessing submissions on the rural, small settlement, medium density, and Future Urban Zone chapters as part of the District Plan Review.

This work involved drafting reports in accordance with sections 32 and 42A of the Resource Management Act (RMA) and presenting evidence at the subsequent Council hearings.

The process included close collaboration with Council officers to understand the rationale behind the proposed provisions, the district’s key priorities and issues, and the aspirations of submitters. The outcome of this work was the development of clearly articulated policies that set out the desired outcomes for the district, supported by pragmatic and effective rule frameworks to help achieve those outcomes.
