Walking the Talk: Our Commitment to a Sustainable Future

At Planz, sustainability isn't just a goal; it's part of who we are. We are dedicated to helping navigate Aotearoa towards a better future.

We’re proud to once again demonstrate our commitment to environmental stewardship by achieving Carbon Positive certification with Carbon Positive.

Beyond Carbon Neutral: A 125% Commitment
In the face of ongoing climate challenges, we’ve go beyond neutralising our carbon footprint. By offsetting 125% of our emissions, we’re actively contributing to environmental restoration. For the measurement period from October 2023 to September 2024, we’ve successfully offset 18.02 tonnes of carbon through the strategic planting of 42 native New Zealand trees at Atiu Regional Park.

The Numbers Behind Our Impact
Our comprehensive carbon emissions report reveals:

  • Total carbon emissions: 14.42 tonnes
  • Offset amount: 18.02 tonnes (125% of emissions)
  • Offset method: Native New Zealand tree planting

Resource Stewardship

  • Environmentally responsible purchasing
  • Embracing reuse and recycling practices
  • Actively working to minimise waste across our operations

Transport strategies

  • Encouraging staff to use public transport, cycling, walking or even skating to work
  • Providing end-of-journey facilities to support active transport
  • Access to Zilch cars – zero emission cars for business use
  • Offsetting flights

Why Native Trees Matter
We’ve chosen to offset our carbon through native tree planting, recognising the unique environmental benefits of this approach. Native trees support local biodiversity and provide long-term carbon retention.

A Collective Responsibility
We believe that combating climate change requires collective action. By sharing our journey, we hope to inspire other businesses to take meaningful steps towards sustainability. Together, we can create a thriving, sustainable future for Aotearoa and generations to come.
