Tim Joll brings over two decades of planning experience to Planz Consultants, with a diverse background that spans both New Zealand and the United Kingdom, including six years in local government. Since joining Planz in 2012, Tim has been instrumental in driving successful outcomes for a wide range of clients.
Tim’s expertise includes the preparation and processing of resource consent applications and outline plans for Councils, showcasing his comprehensive understanding of the planning landscape. He has a notable track record in the consenting and assessment of heritage projects, holding an associate membership with ICOMOS New Zealand. His heritage work extends across both New Zealand and the UK, underlining his versatile skill set.
One of Tim’s career highlights is his involvement in the post-earthquake repair and restoration of heritage buildings in Christchurch, as well as his contributions to various social housing projects. His ability to present evidence at Council hearings and Public Enquiries, advise hearings panels, and lead project scoping studies and community consultations has consistently demonstrated his commitment to excellence. Outside of his professional life, Tim enjoys spending quality time with his family. An avid mountain biker, skier, and fisherman, he embraces outdoor activities and also dedicates time to coaching weekend sports teams. With three young children, Tim’s skills in conflict resolution are constantly honed, adding a personal touch to his professional expertise
