Michael Durand brings over 17 years of planning experience in New Zealand to Planz Consultants. Throughout his career, Michael has been involved in a wide range of consenting and policy development projects focusing on the sustainable development of natural resources.
Michael’s expertise includes consenting various types of contaminant discharges such as combustion emissions, fumigants, pesticides, stormwater and wastewater, odours, landfill gas, leachate, and biosolids. His experience spans multiple sectors including three-waters, waste management, pest management, mining, and aquaculture. Additionally, Michael has substantial experience in farming land use, managing associated diffuse discharges, and nutrient management.
As a qualified independent commissioner with Chair endorsement, Michael provides a high level of expertise and balanced decision-making in his field. His contributions to environmental planning and resource management are pivotal in achieving sustainable and compliant outcomes for diverse projects.
Outside of work keep you eyes peeled on the local music scene in Christchurch and you might spot him playing the drums.
