The development the visitor centre and café in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens involved ongoing consultation with Ngāi Tahu to deliver an award-winning building in a sensitive landscape setting.

Planz secured the required land use and Regional Council consents for the Ilex visitor centre and café in the Christchurch Botanic Gardens. This project included ongoing consultation with Ngāi Tahu regarding cultural values and careful consideration of heritage, landscape, and waterway elements.

The result was a high-quality building harmoniously integrated into a sensitive landscape setting, earning the NZPI project award in 2015.
