Catherine Boulton brings over 17 years of diverse planning experience to Planz Consultants, gained from working in both local government and private consultancies. Her expertise spans the entire project lifecycle, from inception to completion, including site selection evaluations, project scoping appraisals, and the preparation and processing of resource consent applications and notices of requirement for clients and local authorities.

Catherine has a proven track record in preparing plan changes and policy development, and she is adept at presenting planning evidence at Council hearings. As an Associate member of the New Zealand Planning Institute (NZPI), Catherine is committed to maintaining the highest professional standards.

Among her notable projects are the development of solar farms for utility-scale renewable energy across New Zealand, the Wakatu Quay mixed-use community and tourism development in Kaikoura, and the Countdown/Woolworths Fresh Distribution Centre, which enhances the distribution of fresh produce to Woolworths supermarkets throughout the South Island. Catherine has also assisted the Waikato District Council with their District Plan review, focusing on rural rezoning requests.

Outside of work, Catherine enjoys spending time with her family, watching her three kids play sports, skiing in the winter, and staying active by spending time at the gym.
